What are the advantages of having a Wikipedia account?

You can edit the wiki without revealing your IP publically, that's all huh?
What are the advantages of having a Wikipedia account?
There's a lot more to it than that, with a Wikipedia account you can upload files, you can edit semi-protected articles, and you can write your own articles.

A lot of features still require your account to be a few days old, though.
Reply:Well, yes, you hide your ip, but the most important aspect of having an account is that you become a personality on Wikipedia with the potential for gaining reputation and responsibility.
Reply:Besides the IP, you also have the advantage of editing pages "locked" to non-registered users. You can also subscribe to Wikiprojects, In addition, it's a way for others to know more about you.
Reply:You can also easily go and check your history of different entries that you've edited.
