Tax rebate: can you still add a bank account to get it direct deposited?

My partner didn't receive a refund the last couple of years so the IRS doesn't have a bank account.....we could have the direct deposit on May 9, but would have to wait for the paper check until June 27 or so.

NO!!! If you did not receive a refund that was direct deposited, you will receive a paper check!

There is NOT a way to go back and add one!
