No, they can not seize your house. They will prevent the house from being sold or refinanced until they are paid what you owe.
They can force the sale from your estate, you children can not inherit your property without paying the lien.
Reply:They won't make you sell it, but when you do sell it or when you die and your estate sells it, the first people/entities to be paid are those with attachments/liens against the property. In order for you to cleanly transfer title, they have to release the attachment or lien, which they won't do until the debt is paid.

When I pay on my wife's Canadian credit card debt she had before we got married and she moved to the U.S. I just mail them a check (cheque) drawn from our U.S. bank account. They convert it over with no problem. Check with your credit card company.

Where can I cash a check without a bank account?
Not only where, but I'd rather it be a place where I can be 15 and still be able to do so by myself. I live on Staten Island so if anyone knows a place I can easily cash a check at the age of 15, please let me know.
I know I can just go to the bank with my parents, but they aren't the type of parents that would enjoy escorting me to do this kind of thing. They prefer if I handle all my affairs alone.

This would give you economic freedom and teach you how to manage your money and track a bank account. I got one for my daughter when she was 15 and she is building credit and totally independent.

I want to track an email through IP address which I received on my hotmail account . The problem is that I can't find "Mail Display Settings" either in Options or elsewhere and therefore can't find the full headers. I'm not an IT expert but have only very little knowledge of this. Can I deposit checks into my Bank of America account from a La Salle ATM?
I know Bank of America and La Salle have merged, so can I use a La Salle ATM to deposit into my Bank of America account yet? My friends say I can deposit into any ATM as long as it will read my card and PIN, I just will be charged a service fee. There are no Bank of America ATMs or branches where I now live.

Bank of America is a little tricky with their mergers. I work for them and right now they have 3 different systems. One for when they bought out Seafirst in WA and ID and one in CA and one for the rest of the country. Right now you are able to go about your normal business. Bank of America at some point or another MAY put La Salle on the same system as the rest of the country but it is highly unlikely because it is not very cost effective depending on the amount of total branches. If you were able to deposit money into the atm before at a La Salle atm into your La Salle account, that has not changed, just the logo and company name. All the systems in place are the same for now. The only problem you would have is that if you went out of town and tried to do a deposit into that account from a bank of america branch. It wouldn't work because of the fact that the systems are not in place. Since it sounds like you currently have a bank of america account, to make your life easier i would close that one and open up a La Salle account (even though it's all under the bank of america roof) because you won't ever be able to deposit into a bofa account from a la salle atm unless they merge the systems together.

I recommend calling the customer service number that should be on the back of the card. If they can't tell you, I doubt anyone here can.

My family? Woah, no. Not my 'rents, at least. That would be weird. There's way too much "personal" stuff I've either asked or answered about here.
My crush? Well...that's a difficult one. He doesn't do it much...and if he did I wouldn't care one bit. He knows everything about me, so he wouldn't find any surprises. :)

If you see anything odd, you can have your bank do an "Unauthorized ACH" investigation....there's a form you sign stating they didn't have permission to take it and they contact the company for their written authorization...

My wife and I live in the same apartment complex as her parents. We currently don't have cable tv service because we hardly watch it, they have Time Warner Cable. My problem is I'm living in Korea, and I have no interest in learning their language, and so do not wish to open a Korean account...they don't have any English websites for investments (that I'm aware of). So what would it take to open an account with a non-US and non-Korean investment company or bank with the intent to put money into the markets?

There's really no reason why you can't open an investment account from Korea as long as you can supply the identification to prove who you are and where you live. The fact that you live in another country makes no difference, I live in the UK and have a US account with TD Ameritrade.
There are a handful of countries on a financial services black list, but they are places like Iran, Syria, Nigeria and Burma. The fact that you live in Korea will not be a problem.
Once you have the account open and funded then trading Nasdaq and DJIA is as simple as logging onto your account on the net and placing the trade. If you chose a non-US based provider then the IRS will withold some tax on your dividends. The amount withheld will depend on the tax treaty between the US and the country your account is hosted in, but will typically be around 10%.

My problem is I'm living in Korea, and I have no interest in learning their language, and so do not wish to open a Korean account...they don't have any English websites for investments (that I'm aware of). There's really no reason why you can't open an investment account from Korea as long as you can supply the identification to prove who you are and where you live. The fact that you live in another country makes no difference, I live in the UK and have a US account with TD Ameritrade.
There are a handful of countries on a financial services black list, but they are places like Iran, Syria, Nigeria and Burma. The fact that you live in Korea will not be a problem.
Once you have the account open and funded then trading Nasdaq and DJIA is as simple as logging onto your account on the net and placing the trade. If you chose a non-US based provider then the IRS will withold some tax on your dividends. The amount withheld will depend on the tax treaty between the US and the country your account is hosted in, but will typically be around 10%.

I'm in the process of investigating an internet fraud that was commited aginst myself and several others. Gaining access however just plain isn't going to happen.
Unless you are part of the FBI or CIA or Homeland Security you won't get it.
The best you can hope for is to file an official complaint and follow up with it, and if necessary, file criminal charges against the culprits.

I think it will be easier to gain their trust having a business name, and it will help if they make their checks out to the name of the business. But then of course I will need to be able to cash those checks.
