if you have 50 and take out 250 then you face hefty fees and fines. 30 to 40 for the initial overdraft, then a daily fine for each day that the account is in arrears. You have to pay back everything that you took out plus the fees. AND if the bank thinks you did it intentionally they can press charges as can any business that you wrote a bad check to.
