I was informed I have unclaimed money in an account. How do I bypass the middleman to collect it?

The Co. that notified me has a perfect record with the Better Business Bureau but they want a 40% fee for recovering the money for me. So how do I figure out where this money is so I can claim it?

Search Unclaimed Funds on Google.

Put in your name and state.

Good luck
Reply:Try your State Treasurer's Office--they often handle escheat property and many have the info and claim forms online. No fee. The company that 'notified' you had to get the info from somewhere, somewhere that's public record.
Reply:A perfect record with the BBB simply means they have not recieved any negitive information about that business. A scammer using a new business name will of course have a perfect record.
