How old can you be to open a cellphone account on AT&T, Verizon Wireless, or Sprint?

Just out of curiosity, how old you must be to open your own cellphone plan on the providers listed above?
How old can you be to open a cellphone account on AT%26amp;T, Verizon Wireless, or Sprint?
anyone can have a cell phone, but to open an account by yourself, as in without a parent or guardian, you have to be 18, because you are signing a binding contract.
Reply:All contracts require the buyer to be of legal age, in most states that is 18 years old. The contract is null and void if you are under age.
Reply:18 at at%26amp;t, and verizon, but you can be 16 at Sprint as long as you have parental consent and a job. =)
Reply:i have a friend who is 16 and has a account with verizon wireless. so its not restricted to 18 and older
Reply:I think as long as you have a credit/debit card, they dont care.
