How do i make a website that allows people to register and log-on to their own account?
You can setup a full fledged website by using a simple CMS (Content Management System) that will allow users to register and logon on their own, even you can create your own disclaimer and rules, and also customize your website, manage users, so many functions under control panel to checkout.

But there are so many types of script like ASP, ASP .NET, Java, Perl, PHP.

Some web-hosts dont support scripts coded in PHP, ASP, etc. so before making a choice, make sure your web-hosting account has PHP or ASP features enabled

You just have to download any one script, put into you websites ftp or file manager, then follow the setup instructions included with the CMS file, its so easy.

There's no need of learning any coding or language, but if you want to explore the entire system completely then i would recommend you start with learning C, C++, Java, PHP and so on.
Reply:you need to learn programing

Reply:You can (a) learn programming, as in PHP code, but depending on the user that could take weeks to months.

there are many free user authentication scripts out there. However I personally wouldnt advise using login scripts, thats restricting content to registration. It turns away possible users, and they add up, trust me.
