Is it still possible to open a closed bank account?

Just wondering if it is possible especially if the account is yours.
Is it still possible to open a closed bank account?
I'm not sure if it is the same at every bank, but here's some information from the one I work at. Hopefully it is helpful. If the account was closed in good standing, the account is closed for good. You will have to open a new account with a new number. We do this for security reasons (i.e. if someone else were to get ahold of your past account number and steal your identity...come in claiming to be you and wanting to re-open an account= bad news!) If the account was force closed due to being overdraft for a certain length of time, typically there is a repayment plan. The tellers at the bank will have a way of inputting the payment into the system. Once you have paid the balance to zero, you can reopen the same account. Hope I was able to help!
Reply:Mmmh.
Reply:If you owe money on it and pay it off, you can re open it. unless there are other circumstances you should be able to open it with a deposit just fine
Reply:No once an account is closed, you have to open another one.
