Does having a job, or a savings bank account affect receiving a maintenance grant or bursary for Uni in UK?

As in, if I have a few grand in an ISA or have a part time job, will this be taken into account when deciding to give out maintenance grants. I am from the UK, so I would just like to know.

Well I don't think it asks for your income (as they realise it will be very different once you get to uni) but they do ask about your savings, your parents savings and your parents' income. It depends how much "a few grand" is. I THINK the form asked me if I had 拢8000 or more (last year), but you can download the form from www.studentfinancedirect.co.uk now and have a look.
Reply:yeah, there is a certain amount and if you go over that they won't give you a penny, same if you parents are rich.
Reply:Yes it does so don't declare it..................get your payments into a seperate account.
Reply:Yes u Fool
