Knowingly writing a check on a close account is a crime. That said, criminal charges won't do YOU any good. You have to sue in CIVIL court for the amount you are owed. The correct jurisdiction is wherever you where paid. The location of the bank, or even the primary location of the payer are not important.
Reply:Go to the police station and file a complaint and ask them what to do. You can file charges immediately while there.
Reply:You need to call the police. That is check fraud and is against the law.
