I owe money on credit cards and have been unable to pay them. I am still unable to pay them and am at great risk for all of my money being taken out of my bank account. I was just wondering if I put another person on a bank account with me, would that prevent companies from taking money out of my account?
If there are two people listed on one bank account, and only one owes money, can they still seize your funds?
No. All you'll be doing is making the other person liable. You should be paying your bills. Since you spent the money, you should have been responsible enough to keep track of your expenses and spend only what you can afford. Credit card companies can not automatically garnish your bank account funds unless you allow it or they legally have permission from court. If they are doing it without authorization, you can sue.
Reply:joint account = your account (because instructions are usually and/or signatory)
under the eyes of the law, the credit card company can still seize monies in your joint account.
if you want to prevent the credit card companies from taking your last savings, withdraw all your monies from your bank account and keep it under your pillow. ;)
best advise seriously - pay up your credit card debts. call the bank, speak to them, tell them you can't pay. they can help work out some kind of instalment payment. there are just far too many people out there who can't pay their bills and are running away like you. the credit card companies will be more than happy to make some kind of arrangements with you. you will be surprise what kind of arrangements they will agree to - including freezing the interest (which is usually the one which kills you!)
Reply:No, it would not prevent that account from being seized.
If you have someone you really trust (parent etc.), you could put the money in their name only with you as the beneficiary. That way they the creditors would not have access to it, and if something happened to that person the money would go back to you.
Reply:If the account is a joint one, then both partners suffer when one runs up enough debt that creditors seize the account. If you ask someone to become partners with you under those circumstances, and don't tell them the financial bind that you are in, then you could be sued by that person, as well as having your bank account frozen..
Not a good move.
Reply:Yes, I believe so, Right now they have taken my income tax checks for filing joint with my wife because she had a student loan before I knew her, and still owes it, so I've learned never to file joint again, at least until she gets that taken care of. they have taken two or three checks from me for it.Testing to see if it was over after alot of years now and then but no, so I won't file joint again.
Reply:No it would not.
Because you are still the primary account holder, they will still take the money.
If you have money in your account, then you should pay it to the cc companies.
Or, close your account and use money orders.
Reply:No, it won't help. They other person would have to prove that they were entitled to said money and would only recoup half of it. If you're married, you are pretty well screwed until it's straightened out.
Reply:absolutely! Not fair but true do not know this through personal experience... But never the less it s true... sorry if you wanted a different answer !!! a different last name would be ideal, like your married brother or sister.. consolidate and call your debtors and show good faith they'll work with you ..
believe me. tt
Reply:No, the bank will still be taking money on that account. The best way is to open on another bank , not same bank or make the payments. One more advice......Go bankrupt, what else to lose your credit score is bad already......
Reply:Yes, any account you sign on can be garnished, including joint accounts you hold with other people.
Reply:not to worry they will continue sending the bill , my suggestion is to send them something each month or call and tell them ,, hope it isn't to much ,,,,
Reply:Yes - it would be a joint account but it's still linked to you.
Reply:Yes they can.
Reply:No, your name is still on it.
Reply:yep- they can still take the money
Reply:the answer to the question is yes they can

Does anyone know how I can get an iTunes account without a credit card or anything?
I need an Itunes account to get Application on my iPod but to get an Account I need a credit card?
Is there any other way I can get one?
Does anyone know how I can get an iTunes account without a credit card or anything?
Just go to the register. Don't buy a nything. just click register if it asks for card skip step at the bottom =)
Reply:You shouldn't need any credit card to get the account started... just skip that step. Now, if you wanna buy songs... you can go to walmart and get an itunes gift card and that works just fine!!
Reply:YES!!
i dont have a creddit card on my accont
all you have to get is like a 5 dollar itunes gift card and use that card #
Reply:There is an easy way.
1. Update to the latest version of iTunes
2. Click on your countries homepage
3. Click on the top app on 'Top free apps'
4. Click 'Get app' and create a account form there
5. When you get to the credit card section there should be a 'none' option.
Hoped this helped.
Reply:Ask your friends if they have an empty Master-Card or American Express or any other Credit Card-Gift Card.
Put the information into the itunes account creation ie:
FULL NAME : GIFT CARD RECIPIENT
NUMBER: 4432 ***** ******
etc.
Reply:You can buy a gift card and redeem it to get an ID without necessarily getting a credit card.

Is there anyway that i can just make his account admin, and mine standard, but also make both of us have access to all the files and folder?

How can i share files and folders between two account users?
Go to control panel and then the user panel.
Change your user to admin and him to standard.
You can also share files between those accounts using the shared folder in my computer. Put you files into that folder and then log on the other account and move the files from the folder.
Reply:yes, put all that stuff in the my shared documents, my shared music and my shared pictures folders on your c drive. then all users have access to them

Once you get involved with a friend, whether it's business or personal, something always goes wrong and all you'll have left is ill feelings towards each other.
Reply:i dont think so,weird to say, had better luck with strangers.

Does it hurt to close a long term bank account?
Hi,
I have been with CitiBank now for 8 years and with Chase for three years. I am getting fed up with CitiBank's service and would like to close my account, however, since I have had it open for a long time, are there any advantages to keeping an account open long term?
Thanks!
Does it hurt to close a long term bank account?
No it shouldn't hurt sense you already established a bank account with chase for 3 years
Reply:No, it won't have any effect on your credit score.

When can you take money out of your bank account?
I'm 14 and want to take some money out of my bank account. Can i do it without parental permission? And also, will my parents be informed that i have taken money out of my account? Because they don't want me to, but i do and if they find out i'll get into trouble lol :) Thanks.
When can you take money out of your bank account?
It depends on what type of account you have.
Do you know if any of your parents sign on your account?
If its only you who has access to your account, then no, they won't be able to see a withdrawal, however it will show up on your statement which gets delivered to your house (unless you have a green account), and your parents might open your mail.
If your parents do sign on your account then they can find out most things. However they won't be informed ie. they wont be given a phone call or a letter telling them that you've withdrawn money, but if they rang up the bank or went into a branch and they asked, then they would be told that someone who signs on the account has withdrew money.
I hope that helped.
Reply:you have to ask yourself is the money really needed or are you just spending it "just because" and as the previous reply-er stated some accounts have a safe guard on it. all accounts have an account statements that comes monthly, and if you parents are smart they check the account bi weekly to check balances and interest. bottom line just leave the cash there saving is good no matter how bad you "think" you need something.
Reply:It depends on how the account is setup, if they are the custodian of the account they might get a statement showing a withdrawal. If your name is on the account you can withdrawal money anytime with no permission.
